Psychotherapy

What Psychotherapy can offer

Psychotherapy provides a regular, confidential space to explore what is troubling you and to develop a deeper understanding of yourself. People come for many reasons: anxiety, relationship difficulties, identity questions, burnout, bereavement, or a sense of being overwhelmed. Others come because they want to make sense of long-standing patterns or because something in their life no longer feels manageable alone.

The aim is not quick solutions, but thoughtful, sustainable change rooted in insight, awareness and emotional clarity..

How I work

I offer a warm, respectful and steady space where you can speak freely and without judgement. You are welcome to bring whatever feels important, there is no expectation to arrive with a clear narrative or a specific goal. Over time, the regularity of the work helps build trust and allows deeper themes to emerge at a pace that feels manageable.

Sessions are 50 minutes, held weekly at an agreed time.

I offer shorter-term work (typically 3–6 months) as well as longer-term, open-ended therapy. We can discuss what feels appropriate during the initial consultation.

My therapeutic approach

I am trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy, which focuses on both present concerns and the earlier experiences that shape how we think, feel and relate. This includes the influence of unconscious processes, patterns outside our immediate awareness that can affect how we respond to the world.

In this approach, the therapeutic relationship is an important part of the work. How you experience me, and what unfolds between us, can offer insight into patterns that may also appear in other relationships. As we explore these dynamics, the aim is to increase your capacity to understand yourself with honesty and to move through life with greater freedom and stability.

Consultation and first session

If you are considering therapy, you are welcome to contact me to arrange a brief introductory call. This gives us a chance to speak, ask questions, and get a sense of whether working together feels right.

We would then arrange an initial consultation (up to 60 minutes) to explore in more depth what is happening for you and what has brought you to therapy at this time. If we decide to proceed, we will agree a regular weekly session.

If your situation is outside my clinical expertise, I will do my best to support you with an appropriate referral.
